We recently shared that we're expecting our first baby in early March 2025. As I write this, we're not even sure yet if we're due to have a boy or a girl. In the mean time, I threw a mood board together for each! (I know which one I would LOVE to actually bring to life but doing this made me feel excited for both)

We already have a crib, so both mood boards actually include it! Baby's crib is a gorgeous black metal frame with the sweetest arch details on it. We loved that it was convertible & can grow with them as they get older. It’s still available & totally affordable. Find it here

Mattress - If you're new here we make the conscious effort to avoid toxins in our home where we can. Since babies spend a lot of time sleeping, that means they'll spend a lot of time on their mattress, so for that we definitely wanted safe materials. We did some digging & felt best about getting the Naturepedic Classic Organic Cotton Mattress

Baby Boy Nursery

The hope is to fully wallpaper the entire nursery & the plus side to most of the wallpapers I would choose for a boy nursery is that they're pretty versatile. In the likely event we sell our home someday, something like green stripes would be a safe bet while still adding some texture & character to the space. This Forest Green Beaded striped Wallpaper by Spoonflower is so good & can be purchased pre-pasted or there's a peel & stick option too. I'm not huge on "themes" for nurseries & love the idea of choosing things that can last several years, even as our kiddos start to take on interests of their own. A boy nursery almost feels too easy because it lends right into the earthy tones & patterns we already use in our house. Since this room is adjacent to our living room, I know this would feel really cohesive & very on brand. It's no secret we're a fan of LoLoi rugs in our home & the Chris Loves Julia x Loloi Briggs rug in the prettiest blue color "Mist" ties in really well with the green wallpaper. I think a simple Ivory curtain & bamboo shade combo would bode well in here & love the idea of mild touches of red like the one on the Maisonette Wooden Airplane Rocker & maybe even a crib sheet with some red tones in it. Crate & Barrel has some nice organic options for a great price. For art work we'll keep it simple with some sweet scripture prints from Amazon.

Baby Girl Nursery

You can't really get a feel for how adorable the wallpaper is that I fell in love with for a baby girl nursery in the mood board but it's this incredible trellis patterned ribbon wallpaper. Get a better glance here. This is also from Spoonflower & like the green striped one, it's available in pre-pasted, peel & stick etc. Same crib of course, same CLJ x Loloi Briggs rug but in the color Blush. To break up some of the messy feel of the ribbon wallpaper I chose a more geometric patterned curtain. Truthfully, I've just wanted an excuse to buy these playful Anthropologie Piece Striped Curtains for a while & love pink & green together. A mirrored armoire feels so whimsical for a little girl's room & again opted for some light, simple prints on the walls since there is plenty going on with the wallpaper already.

Both of these mood boards are definitely just for the sake of sparking some inspiration for either one & there will of course be some changes in things like linen choices & furniture along the way, all keeping a modest budget in mind. The sweet little brown teddy bear you see is a Warmies & was actually the first official thing I bought for the baby when we found out. 🤍 It's been sweet to have something tangible to hold & look at while we wait!

Thanks for being here!
