Choosing a paint color with all of the available options out there can feel overwhelming. Here's a list of my tried & true colors, some we're keeping in mind for later projects & a few others we've just grown to love.

this post is not sponsored in any way & are my own opinions

Neutrals

As welcome as color is in our home we still have a place in our hearts for those classic neutral shades. As of late, so many are reaching for the creamier tones. My favorite shade of white is & remains Benjamin Moore's Swiss Coffee. Other whites we've been loving this year are Sherwin William's Ivory Lace & slightly on the cooler side, Farrow & Ball's School House White. Beige & gray aren't going anywhere either. Our contrast trim & kitchen cabinets are Natural Cream by BM

Mid Tones

I had been reserving a certain beautiful paint color for our home for a while before finally giving in & using it in our study. It has without a doubt become both of our favorite color in our entire house so far & maybe ever. A chameleon color for sure, the popular Farrow & Ball's Pigeon graces the walls of our home office. It has green, blue & gray tones in it. It's dreamy but moody. Mid-toned colors have become big this year while everyone experiments with broader color palettes. They're easy on the eyes & maybe my favorite type of paint color. Another mid-tone I'd love to work into our home someday; Color of the Year 2024 - Benjamin Moore Cinnamon Slate,

A Walk on the Bold Side

Most impactful are of course our bold paint colors. The type of color where after the first swipe on the wall you pause thinking "Am I sure I want this" - We've got one of these colors in our home & the minute we were done I was wondering where else we could go big & moody. Red is the color we've seen this come to fruition with the most over the past couple of years. We drenched our bathroom in Nicholson Red by Benjamin Moore - the perfect burgundy last year & most recently went with a moody navy for our bonus room - Sherwin Williams - Naval. Even more fun than just throwing a bolder paint color on the walls has been the commitment to something edgier on cabinets & drenching entire rooms including ceilings & fireplace surrounds with these shades for a real statement. I'm here for it.

Pastels

We haven't worked any real pastel paint color into our home yet this year but they've made a serious comeback. Perfect for reading rooms, nurseries & laundry rooms...these are the pastels that have caught my eye. Sherwin Williams 2024 Color of the Year Upward

& Sherwin Williams Sea Salt are both so breezy.

Yellow

Giving this one it's own category. A bit of an unexpected color making it's way back into the home scape last year that I think we'll start seeing a lot more of is yellow. There are actually so many creative ways to use yellow & of course so many different shades to fall in love with. I think a nice shade of butter yellow like Sherwin Williams Lemon Meringue

trim paired with a yellow striped wallpaper is so playful in the best way. Also loving the idea of a richer gold like Farrow & Ball India Yellow cooled off next to a steely shade of blue.

Happy painting & as always, thanks for being here!
