Trend alert; Oil Lamps

I use the word "trend" here very loosely because I grew up in a home that always had an oil lamp or two in it! These are a little nostalgic to me because my dad would light them up whenever the power went out during a thunderstorm, it brought a little sense of comfort ~I don't know~ They've been around for ages. BUT more people are leaning into a vintage flare through the use of decor right now & I just think these add the right amount of that.

You can totally, absolutely, without a doubt find these at your local antique store. That's where I found mine at! I understand not everyone has time or honestly any interest in perusing the antique stores for items like this. Luckily there are so many great options on the world wide web for all different budgets! My small one was $10.00 and my large one was $40.00 - so if cost effectiveness is your goal, an online purchase may actually work for you! I didn't mind spending a little more for something with some history to it. Again, everyone's motives differ. :) If you opt for the secondhand version, I do recommend swapping out the wick for a new one! There are cotton versions in all different sizes out there. Clean burn; we call ourselves non-toxic aspirers in the Altimus Home. While we understand we can't avoid everyday toxins altogether, we sure give it a solid effort where we can! Unfortunately the typical go-to for oil lamps is paraffin or kerosene oil...yuck. Luckily after a quick google search I found a company out here putting work in for the betterment of society. You can even put essential oils in this product. Ugh, fine okay. Thank you Firefly for your service. *Find non-toxic lamp oil here*

Are these the most practical way to bring a glowy ambiance to your home? Not necessarily. But sometimes it's okay to romanticize things a bit. ;) They're also beautiful left unlit just as they are, so you could always go that route.
